Review: An Amish Second Christmas by Multiple Authors

An Amish Second Christmas - Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, Ruth Reid, Tricia Goyer

My Thoughts:

I love Christmas. I love Amish. And after reading the first Amish Christmas novel, I knew I had to read this one. I was so in love with this book, much like the first! This collaboration of authors and their talented work have once again captured my soul with their characters and story lines.

These stories are unique and follow Amish tradition, and the attention to details are vivid. Each character is different, yet they compliment each other perfectly. The feel of Christmas and romance, and God's amazing word really help the stories to pop.

If you've never read an Amish novel before, I highly recommend that you read this book. These authors will sweep you away into the loving atmosphere of the holidays and carry you on journeys of hope and faith. Well done, ladies!

Review For Tantric Coconuts by Gregory Kincaid

Tantric Coconuts - Gregory D. Kincaid

This book was something that I was excited to review. However, upon receiving a copy of this book from Blogging For Books, I was disappointed in the book. It was way more spirituality than I am used to. I like books that are filled with fun and romance, humor and exciting plots. This one, well, it was all about the right paths to take and the wrong ones not to take. That's not a bad thing, don't get me wrong. Just not something I'm used to or like to read.

That said, I did like the author's writing style. There was a bit of romance added to the story and that helped to keep me focused on the story enough to finish the book to the end.

Sadly, I can only give this book a three in rating. It's not my favorite and therefore, I won't be rereading it any time soon. But, don't let that stop you from reading this book. You may find it completely to your liking and enjoy it thoroughly.

Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Review: Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Taking Chances - Molly McAdams

My Thoughts:
Sweet heaven above, I absolutely LOVED this book! It was a love/hate relationship actually. A love relationship because oh my god, who wouldn’t love Molly McAdams and her amazing talent, her bad boys, her good girls, and her book endings? A hate relationship because I swear I have NEVER had a novel make me UGLY cry before! Yes, that’s right UGLY cry. I cursed, I threw the book, I CRIED and I CRIED and I CRIED some more! That takes a true talent to make me UGLY cry like that. Books have made me cry before, yes. But, Molly McAdams created a story that emotionally tore me to pieces, both good and bad. She sucked the life out of me more than once, and I had to struggle with getting it back so I could finish the book.

Chase is a beautifully created bad boy. He is so my man! I loved every piece of him, from his attitude to his sexy tatts. He was created in a way that makes you want to follow him around, curl up next to him, and stalk him every second of the day. Yes he is just that amazing.

Brandon, bless him, I loved him, too. He’s an amazing man, and a wonderful addition to the story. I wanted to bring him out of the story and keep him forever, too!

Harper. Now THAT is a character that will steal your heart! She was perfectly chiseled for her role in the story. Watching her with Chase, Brandon, and the other guys, was just amazing. Her role was awesome next to her best friend Bree!

But, this isn’t just your normal romance story. There is so much more depth and struggle, and emotions than any I’ve ever read. When I was told to read this book, I was given it by a friend to borrow. I fell so head over heals with this book that I HAD to send my husband out to pick up a copy for me. And oh was it ever worth it! This is a book that doesn’t deserve a simple 5 star rating. It’s so much more than that. It’s a book that deserves to be passed around to all the romance lovers out there that want a roller coaster of emotions to go with it, that crying session that will leave you so emotionally disturbed and torn that you have to coach yourself through your breathing. IT IS AMAZING, simple as that! Grab a copy of this book and TAKE STOCK IN KLEENEX now!!!

Ms. McAdams will forever be a favorite author now. She has taken the TOP of the list and I am ready to find and collect ALL her books in print for my favorites shelf. I can’t wait for more! Bravo, Ms. McAdams…..BRAVO!!!

Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Review: Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire

My Thoughts:

Holy. Mother. Of. Yea. This book was AMAZING! Once I picked it up I could NOT put  down! Ms. McGuire did a fabulous job with this story. I opened the first page and instantly became a part of life at Eastern university. The ride she took me on was incredibly unforgettable! I haven’t found a book this awesome since I picked up Taking Chances by Molly McAdams.

The characters in this book instantly steal your heart. I instantly fell in love with sweet Abby aka Pigeon. Her tender heart just wanted a new start but when she met Mad Dog Maddox…….oh my heart was gone for the duration! The incredible tension, the sizzling sparks of attraction between Pigeon and Mad Dog…….mmmmmmm. I felt every glorifying emotion like they were my own. That was an amazing feeling!

Ms. McGuire has extreme talent. She creates a real-to-life story of under ground fighting, best friends and what it means to find The One. This is most definitely a story that is worthy of so much more than a simple five star review. It’s keeper shelf worthy, it’s highest of recommendations worthy, it’s top of the reread list worthy. Ms. McGuire, you have a new stalker…..err… long fan in me and I can’t wait to read Travis’s story in WALKING DISASTER!

Review: Daisies Are Forever by Liz Tolsma

Daisies Are Forever - Liz Tolsma

My Thoughts:
I went into this book with an open mind. I loved historical books, but generally though, I love those centered around the Civil War and WWI. Don’t get me wrong, I love books from the WWII era as well, but only if they are well written and superbly captivating. This book fell slightly short of completely captivating me. That said, I did enjoy this book and was glad that I gave it a shot.

It’s a story written from a female German’s perspective. The need to escape, and to survive, and to save those around her is strong and evident. Definitely poignantly written. Gisela captures and steals your heart from the start. The story line, however, is what left me lacking in completely being captivated. There were times that I became a little confused and couldn’t follow along very well.

Ms. Tolsma is a talented author who will be on my continued Must Read list despite the lacking story line. I’m looking forward to reading more of her work in the near future!

Book Review: Everneath by Brodi Ashton

Everneath - Brodi Ashton

Everneath. What can I say about Everneath? Well, I can say that when someone posted a Stacking The Shelf post with Evertrue, I wanted it. But, researching it, I found out that Everneath was the first in that particular series. So, when I saw my library had it, I gradbbed it. And the outcome? I devoured it in one day. One day. Oh my goodness it's so Persephone-esque and captivating! I loved it so much!

Ms. Ashton created Nikki and Cole.....and Jack....with such awesomeness. I loved them all. I didn't know whether I wanted to route for Cole or for Jack but I know I was pleased with the outcome at the end of the book! Both were strongly created, both were someone I would have wanted for myself.

And Nikki.....bless her. I loved her character so much. She struggled inside with what to she wanted and I wanted to wrap my arms around her and hug tight! Tell her everything would be okay and that know matter what her choice was, it would be the right choice.

Ms. Ashton created this supernatural YA novel in a beautiful way. It captured me from Prologue to last chapter and left me ready to Feed off the next amazing Everneath novel......wanting to travel again to the Underworld. I can't wait for another 5 star hit from Ms. Ashton! I'm a new forever fan, for sure!

Book Review: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi

Oh. My. Lord. Give me a minute here, will you? Thanks. *reflecting* Tahereh Mafi just became my newest favorite-est author ever. This series......well, this start to this series, is by far, the most epic, and one that is on my favorite forever list! In fact, I loved this book so much, that because I had checked this particular copy out from the library, I've already gone and ordered a copy off Amazon to keep on my shelf! This is definitely worth the purchase!

Juliette is a chick I didn't think I'd love. In all honesty, I thought she was a little insane in the beginning. I mean, come on. She kept crossing out her thoughts! Say what you mean, chick! But, as the story progressed, Adam came in, and then the fun began! I loved following Juliette and Adam and finding that the story really picked up pace and kept me turning the pages long into the night.

Ms. Mafi is amazing like that. I'm just finding out how much I enjoy reading Dystopian novels, and the fact that this is a Young Adult Dystopian, makes it even more incredible. This story....this story. Yea. I  felt shattered right along with Juliette, then I felt in love with Adam, then right back to shattered. Then, well, then I felt ready for book two already! I can't wait!

I'm not going to go into more detail because I'll be ready to give the story away. I will say that this book is beyond Epic and definitely my favorite. Ms. Mafi has a new stalker, err, um, I mean fan in her life now, as I will forever be reading her books! I can't wait to grab up the next one! What are you waiting for? If you've not read Ms. Mafi's 5 million star book, what are you doing there reading my review? Grab it now! And, if you've read her book, go now and re-read! Go on. =)
